Suyoung - Koreanisch lernen in München
I received my academic training at Seoul National University in Korea, Philosophy (B.A.), at Uppsala University in Sweden, History (M.A.), and at Chung-Ang University in Korea, Literature (Ph.D.). My main study areas are: the Western encounter with Korea, Korean history, Korean culture, Korean cinema, Korean literature.
In addition to the degree certificates, I also studied Philosophy at Maryland University in the U.S. for one and half years, and History of Master course at Coimbra University in Portugal for half a year.
In Korea I taught undergraduate and graduate students as a lecturer and an adjunct professor for seven years. I mainly had lectures about the film, literature, cultural study, and creative writing. I also taught some courses in English. I believe I give full play of my ability best when teaching. My ‘Teaching Evaluation’ was generally high, and at some semester ranked top (95.42 point). Being patient, responsible, goal-oriented, and passionate for the students, I not only respect students’ autonomy but keep strict way of teaching in order to successfully perform curricula I planned.
In addition to the academic career, I officially debuted as a novelist, and have published four books, and wrote many short stories and more than 30 cultural and historical articles for magazines and newspapers.
One article of them was published in Junior High School Textbooks (2013-present). My book about Swedish society (2009) has been displayed at Swedish Embassy in Korea, which is the only Korean book the Embassy decided to display. And my recent book about Korean society (2013) focuses on Korean history, culture, and identity, which was chosen as ‘Honored Script’ by KPIPA, and reviewed over 15 times in mass media. I gave speeches and interviews over 20 times related to this book.
In addition to the academic and writing career, I had worked as an English instructor at foreign language institute; run my own institute for college entry; a project manager at IT Company; CEO at Art-Gallery; and a Guest Reporter for JoongAng Newspaper Sisamedia Corp.
